Chicago Bears sign QB Zac Dysert and TE Gannon Sinclair, waive QB Shane Carden and G Lucas Nix

The Chicago Bears have signed recently waived quarterback Zac Dysert, formerly of the Denver Broncos. To make room for Dysert, the Bears cut undrafted rookie QB Shane Carden.

They also claimed TE Gannon Sinclair off waivers, and released Guard Lucas Nix.

The 25 year old Dysert was a 7th round draft pick of the Broncos in 2013, so he has a history with head coach John Fox and offensive coordinator Adam Gase. Dysert is 6'3", 221 pounds and he was a four year starter at Miami University (Ohio). He had some brief action the last two preseason's for Denver, but he has has never played in a regular season game.

Since he knows the Gase system, Dysert is expected to play during the Thursday night preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns. With Bears backup QB Jimmy Clausen out with a concussion, there's a very good chance the Bears open the season with three QBs.

David Fales is probably the odd man out of the QB competition.
