The Chicago Bears are sitting at 0-3, and will likely be without starting quarterback Jay Cutler for at least one more week, as he continues nursing a hamstring injury sustained in Week 2 versus the Arizona Cardinals. For all intents and purposes, there's little for Bears fans to be excited about.
However, a little sliver of something positive was reported by Adam Schefter Monday morning-- Chicago Bears starting wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is expected to return Sunday versus the Oakland Raiders.
Jeffery missed all of the preseason and much of training camp with a calf muscle injury, but was able to play once the regular season started. However, after only one outing, he strained a hamstring and missed two consecutive games, causing some raised eyebrows as it relates to contract discussion.
Jeffery is in a contract year, and unless he can stay healthy and perform like a true #1 for the remainder of the season, his arrow may not continue to point up.
Stay tuned...
