Good morning. The Bears' season ends today.
It's been quite a roller coaster of a year, all things considered. There were sniffs of playoff contention, there were tight games all year round, there were indeed a couple blowouts in there, there was a Jimmy Clausen sighting, and in the end, there was a better season than last year with reason to expect improvement next year. Sam and I will get into our end-of-season thoughts next in tomorrow's WCG Livestream Season-Ending Show, but before that...
There's one more game to go, and it's the game to stay out of the NFC North basement (and get out of having ten losses on the year). The Lions fired their GM, there are chances Jim Caldwell is out after this season, Calvin Johnson could find his way out of town due to his cap hit... and the Lions have won 5 of their last 7 after starting the season 1-7.
The Bears' coaching staff is solid for next season - well, if you ignore the possibilities of Adam Gase leaving town, as well as Vic Fangio maybe interviewing for head coaching opportunies. There's a lot to watch for at the end of this season, such as development, free agents auditioning for next year, and maybe a higher draft pick? Also known as something these players won't be playing for.
It's the final game of the regular season. Let's go.
