Chicago Bears announce a number of roster moves

Earlier today the Chicago Bears made a few roster moves that affected both their active roster and practice squad.

They elevated corner De’Vante Bausby from the practice squad and waived defensive back Demontre Hurst, who himself was just elevated over the weekend. Hurst actually suited up on Sunday and played 9 special teams snaps against the Colts. With the hamstring injury suffered by Bryce Callahan on Sunday and the sprained ankle of Deiondre Hall from Friday, perhaps the Bears wanted another outside corner on the active roster.

Basuby is 6’2”, 190 pounds and had a solid training camp with the Bears before being cut on the final cut down day in September.

Chicago added wide receiver Darius Jennings and tight end Marcel Jensen to the practice squad, while placing tight end Busta Anderson on the practice squad injured list.

Jennings is 5’10”, 169 pounds and he appeared in four games with 1 start in 2015 with the Cleveland Browns. He totaled 14 receptions for 117 yards that year with 7 kick returns for a 22.6 average.

Jensen (6’6”, 269) is already with his 6th franchise after being an UDFA in 2014.
