With a short week to prepare to play football, both the Green Bay Packers’ and the Chicago Bears’ injury reports are very daunting. The Bears will likely be without 6 players and the Packers have 7 ruled out for the game.
With no time to rest and heal, I would not be surprised to see some of the questionable Bears held out of tomorrow’s game.
Chicago has officially ruled wide receiver Eddie Royal and corner Deiondre’ Hall out for the Thursday Night contest. Hall has been backing up at CB, but he was a contributor on special teams. Royal is tied for 2nd on the team in receptions (29), he’s 2nd in receiving yards (338) and 2nd in receiving touchdowns (2). He is also the team’s primary punt returner and the last time he wasn’t available to return punts, the Bears went with rookie UDFA Cre'von LeBlanc, who has bene playing at nickle of late.
The Bears list these four players as doubtful, Jeremy Langford (RB), Jay Cutler (QB), Josh Sitton (LG) and Eddie Goldman (NT), but none are expected to play.
Starting cornerbacks Tracy Porter (knee) and Bryce Callahan (hamstring) practiced for the first time all week (limited) and are both listed as questionable.
The other questionable Bears, also limited at today’s practice, are OLB Sam Acho, RB Ka’Deem Carey, TE Zach Miller, ILB Jerrell Freeman and OLB Leonard Floyd. Floyd has missed the last two games with a calf injury and the Bears could use someone else rushing off the edge to compliment Willie Young.
For those wondering about OLB Pernell McPhee, the Bears have until 3pm on Thursday to activate him for the game.
EDIT: He’s Officially Back!
The Green Bay Packers only have one player listed as questionable, wide out Devante Adams. Everyone else on their injury report are ruled out and those players are;
RB Eddie Lacy
RB James Starks
WR Jared Abbrederis
S Chris Banjo
TE Jared Cook
CB Damarious Randall
CB Quinten Rollins
Also in case you missed it, cornerback Sam Shields went on injured reserve this week for the Pack.
With both Lacy and Starks out, it could be the newly acquired Knile Davis who receives the bulk of the carries in the backfield. Also look for wide outs Ty Montgomery and Randall Cobb to get some snaps at tailback.
