**SCORE UPDATE**
Chicago Bears 13
Minnesota Vikings 3
—--———————-
The Chicago Bears offense started out a bit rocky, with quarterback Jay Cutler trying to knock off the rust after missing five straight games with an injured thumb.
But things picked up in the second quarter, with Cutler hitting some passes and rookie running back Jordan Howard being the spark plug they’d hoped he would be. Here is what the first 10 possessions during Monday Night Football looked like:
Vikings: Punt, Punt, Punt, Punt, Punt
Bears: FG, Punt, Punt, FG, Touchdown
At that point, the Bears led 13-0, but the next Vikings possession saw a bit more luck, including a little help from the officials. On a missed 3rd down conversion, Cornelius Washington came a couple yards onto the field (he was on the sideline for the play) before the play was blown dead, and despite 1- not at all interfering in the play because it was being ruled dead and 2- it being strictly a discretionary call by the official... And the flag was thrown and the possession extended.
The Vikings got a field goal, and the game went into halftime 13-3 Bears.
This is your 3rd Quarter Open Thread... Have fun!
