The first half of the Chicago Bears game on Sunday versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was just about as bad as anyone could have imagined. Jay Cutler had three turnovers in a 17 minute span, and in the 2nd quarter, offensive lineman Kyle Long had to be carted off the field with what looked like an ugly right leg/ ankle injury.
As the Bears offense was lining up in the red zone, Paul Lasike rolled into Long’s right leg, and trainers immediately ran onto the field with an air cast to provide stability.
Long was loaded onto the cart, with players from both teams coming up to shake his hand and show their respect.
Long appeared to be in a lot of pain, and he was quickly carted off into the locker room. On the very next play, Cutler rolled out on a 3rd and goal, and fumbled the football on a sack.
More details as they are available.
Howie Long on Kyle Long: diagnosis better than it first looked, but he'll be out "a while". #FoxNFLSunday
