Jordan Howard was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after powering his way through a tough Minnesota Vikings defense for an impressive 153 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Another 49 yards on 4 grabs through the air pushed Howard’s yards from scrimmage total over 200. Howard was a major factor in the 20-10 victory for the Bears over the heavily favored Vikings on Monday night.
The rookie out of Indiana had put together back to back 100+ yard performances against the Detroit Lions and Indianapolis Colts before being slowed down by the Jaguars and Packers. There were questions as to the workload distribution with Ka’Deem Carey showing a burst and Jeremy Langford returning from injury, but Howard did everything he could to take control of the starting gig.
At the halfway point in the season, Howard has started the last 5 games and accumulated 505 yards on 99 carries. He’s added 18 catches for 177 yards and has reached the end zone three times overall.
What did you think about the rookie’s performance on Monday Night Football and what do you forecast for the remainder of the season?
