The NFL continues to expand its base, tonight making a Monday night appearance in the great city of Mexico City. The Houston Texans will square off against the Oakland Raiders at Azteca Stadium, marking the first time in over a decade the NFL has played a game there.

Back in October of 2005, the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers faced each other at Azteca Stadium in what was the very first NFL game outside the United States. That night for NFL Fútbol Americano, over 103,000 fans attended the game.

Tonight, the Texans and Raiders will play in the super-elevated Azteca, which is over 7,200 feet above sea level. For comparison, Mile High Stadium in Denver is 5,280.

The Oakland Raiders (7-2) are currently in 1st place in the AFC West, and the Houston Texans (6-3) are in 1st place in the AFC South. Both teams have playoff aspirations, and both will benefit greatly from a win tonight.

This is your Monday Night Football Open Thread... Have fun!
