With the latest wave of injuries (not to mention the recent suspension) hitting the Chicago Bears this week, some roster shuffling was needed.
Just moments ago the Bears announced that tight end Zach Miller was placed on season ending injured reserve. They also made official the addition of quarterback David Fales to their active roster.
Fales, who spent parts of 2014-2016 with the Bears, was plucked off of Baltimore’s practice squad to strengthen Chicago’s QB depth with the recent injury to starter Jay Cutler. Cutler, interestingly enough, was not mentioned in the recent press release.
EDIT: John Fox called Cutler “day to day”
Chicago also promoted inside linebacker Jonathan Anderson to the active roster from their practice squad. Additionally they signed OL Lawrence Okoye and DL Jimmy Staten to the practice squad. Staten was just cut by the Bears and Okoye is the Brittish Olympian that the 49ers signed back in 2013. Back then the 6’6”, 310 pound Okoye played defensive line, but the Bears’ press release listed him at o-line.
What are your thoughts on this latest flurry of moves?
