Chicago Bears’ rookie tailback Jordan Howard was the most productive player on the field during their Monday Night match-up agaisnt the Minnesota Vikings. He already won the NFC Offensive Player of the Week, thanks to his 26 carries, 153 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground and his 4 receptions and 49 receiving yards.
It was Howard’s stellar work running the ball (5.9 yards per carry) that propelled him to his latest award, the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week.
With this win, FedEx will donate $2,000 to The USO in Howard’s name.
Derek Carr of the Oakland Raiders, whom I talked about in this weeks Ten Thoughts on the NFL, won the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week for going off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carr went 40 of 59 passes (67.8 percent) for 513 yards and 4 touchdowns, with a 117.4 passer rating.
Howard is also up for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week. Bears’ fans, you can vote for him right here.
