According to Spotrac, the Chicago Bears have 14 unrestricted free agents set to come out of contract after this season. They have seven 2017 restricted free agents and 4 more exclusive rights free agents. That's a lot of potential turnover for a franchise going into year three of a rebuild, but it's necessary turnover as long as the players that are brought in can build-up higher quality depth. If the young players acquired during the first two years of the Ryan Pace era aren't ready to push some veterans for playing time, or to push some vets off the roster completely, then the Bears have the wrong guy picking the players.
In the latest edition of my T Formation Conversation Podcast (Subscribe now on iTunes) I go over not only the 25 Bears' free agents, but I also discuss a few veterans that I think the Bears may release.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
