Our NFL Week 14 coverage rolls on, with the following games on the docket this afternoon:
- Jets (3-9) at 49ers (1-11) - 3:05 p.m. / CBS
- Saints (5-7) at Buccaneers (7-5) - 3:25 p.m. / Fox
- Falcons (7-5) at Rams (4-8) - 3:25 p.m. / Fox
- Seahawks (8-3) at Packers (6-6) - 3:25 p.m. / Fox
Lots of playoff implications in this set of games, particularly in the NFC South. The Falcons and Buccaneers are tied at 7-5, but the Saints aren’t out of the postseason race yet. A win over the Bucs would out the Saints only a game out in their division.
The Seahawks are sitting pretty in the ever-weak NFC West, but their opponent today, the Green Bay Packers, are trying to keep their head above water in the NFC North. If the Packers can pull off a win today, they’ll stay in contention for a postseason berth. If they lose, their playoff chances dwindle to highly unlikely.
Of course we will also have our Sunday Night Football Open Thread around 7:00pm, which will feature the red-hot Dallas Cowboys versus the 2nd place tea, in the NFC East: The New York Giants.
This is your NFL Week 14 Second Shift Open Thread... Have fun!
