There was plenty of excitement surrounding the Chicago Bears at the start of the 2016 season, but injuries and lack of depth at critical positions quickly tempered that excitement. The Bears are now solidly in the basement of the NFC North, with no shot at the playoffs and questions looming as to what 2017 will look like, if we can ever get out of 2016.
Today, the Bears face off against a semi-hot Detroit Lions team, who are in first place in the NFC North, and currently enjoying a four-game winning streak.
The Bears offense will largely be placed on rookie running back Jordan Howard’s shoulders, but he won’t be able to do it alone. His supporting cast today:
- QB: Matt Barkley
- WR’s: Cameron Meredith, Josh Bellamy, Deonte Thompson, Daniel Braverman
Just about the only thing the Bears have going for them today is the fact that they beat the Lions in Week 4, so they know what they need to do to do it again. The biggest questions is, do they have the ability? Stay tuned...
This is your Bears vs Lions 1st Quarter Open Thread... Have fun!
