Chicago Bears 3
Detroit Lions 0
The Chicago Bears started today’s game on defense, and despite quarterback Matthew Stafford completing three passes for 1st downs, the Detroit Lions ended up punting on their first possession.
The Bears, in turn, moved the ball well on their first possession, with rookie running back Jordan Howard racking up over 40 yards in the first series. The Bears first drive was derailed, however, on a false start penalty that backed them up and forced a field goal attempt. Connor Barth connected, and the Bears go up 3-0 after one possession.
We can expect a heavy dosage of Matt Stafford this game, with starting running back Theo Riddick sidelined with wrist and ankle injuries, and an equally heavy dosage of Jordan Howard for the Bears due to their depleted passing game.
We’ve got one period in the books, and three to go. Stay tuned...
