Our second set of games this afternoon has significant playoff implications, and includes a rematch of January’s AFC Championship game.
On the docket this afternoon:
- New Orleans Saints (5-8) vs Arizona Cardinals (5-7-1)
Neither the Saints nor Cardinals are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention yet, but that will change after today. They each need a win to stay alive.
- San Francisco 49ers (1-12) vs Atlanta Falcons (8-5)
The Niners are a mess, currently on a 12-game losing streak that isn’t likely to end today. The Falcons are tied with the Buccaneers at the top of the NFC South.
- Oakland Raiders (10-3) vs San Diego Chargers (5-8)
The Raiders are in a dogfight with the Chiefs for the AFC West title, and the Chargers are just trying not to have a losing record this season.
- New England Patriots (11-2) vs Denver Broncos (8-5)
This is a rematch of January’s AFC Championship game, and the Broncos desperately need a win if they are going to stay in contention both in their division and in the conference.
This is your NFL Week 15 Second Shift Open Thread... Have fun!
