With only two games to go and dreams of the postseason long gone, the Chicago Bears may be extra cautious with some of their injured players.
Nose tackle Eddie Goldman missed last week with that troublesome ankle injury and he missed all of practice this week, so the Bears decided to shut him down for the season. Goldman is the 19th player to go on IR this year.
With Goldman to IR, the Bears have promoted interior offensive lineman Cornelius Edison from the practice squad. They may need Edison on Saturday against the Washington Redskins because they’ve also ruled out back up offensive guard Eric Kush. Kush started showing concussion symptoms this week so he was placed in the concussion protocol.
The Bears have also officially activated inside linebacker Jerrell Freeman from the exempt list after his four game suspension ended.
Questionable Bears include corners Bryce Callahan and Cre’Von LeBlanc. RB Ka’Deem Carey, QB David Fales, DE Cornelius Washington and OLB Willie Young.
Washington has ruled out two players, safety Su'a Cravens and corner Quinton Dunbar. They have eight players listed as questionable.
DE Chris Baker
LB Martell Spaight
LB Will Compton
LB Terence Garvin
LB Ryan Kerrigan
QB Colt McCoy
OT Ty Nsekhe
TE Jordan Reed
Tight end Jordan Reed has absolutely killed the Bears in his two career games against them, compiling 18 catches for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns.
