The Chicago Bears have announced that they have re-signed safety and special teamer Chris Prosinski to a one year deal.

Prosinski started 5 games at safety for the Bears last year, while apperaing in 13 total after being signed on September 29. According to the NFL, the soon to be 29 year old Prosinski had 23 tackles, 1 sack, 1 quarterback hit and one forced fumble on defense, and 8 tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams. He played 337 snaps on defense and another 259 on special teams. He was the 2nd most active special teams for the Bears, playing on 56.7% of the total plays.

The Bears seem to have made it a priority to re-add their special team standouts, with defensive back Sherrick McManis, wide out Josh Bellamy, running back Jacquizz Rodgers and wide out / kick returner Deonte Thompson all back in the fold. They also went out and added a quality and experienced long snapper in Aaron Brewer.

What are your thoughts on Prosinski's return?
