The Chicago Bears have re-signed outside linebacker and special teamer Sam Acho according to his agent.

Acho played in 15 games last season with 7 starts. According to the NFL, Acho had 32 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 2 quarterback hits, 1 pass defense, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery on defense. He added 7 tackles on special teams. Football Outsiders had him down for 447 snaps on defense (43.4%) and 287 on special teams (62.8%).

The Bears have made it a point to address special teams this offseason. Acho joins safety Chris Prosinski, defensive back Sherrick McManis, wide out Josh Bellamy, running back Jacquizz Rodgers and wide out / kick returner Deonte Thompson as returning players that made an impact in the 3rd phase last year. The Bears also upgraded their long snapper with the addition of Aaron Brewer.

Terms of Acho's deal are unknown at this time, but last year his was a veteran minimum contract. He ended up winning a starting OLB job opposite big money signing Pernell McPhee.

It's now official.

What are your thoughts on Acho returning to the Bears?
