The Chicago Bears have announced that wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has signed his franchise tag tender. Jeffery and the Bears now have until July 15th to work out a long term deal. If nothing is agreed to by the deadline, Jeffery will play the 2016 season for about $14.6 million.
With Jeffery officially in the fold, he will now most likely be a part of the Bears' offseason workout program.
Some recent wide out contracts that Jeffery and his representation, and Chicago Bears brass may be using as a guideline for Jeffery's long term deal are the 5 year, $65,000,000 with $28,000,000 guaranteed that T.Y. Hilton inked with the Indianapolis Colts. The Dallas Cowboys' Dez Bryant signed a 5 year, $70 million deal with $45 million guaranteed. Demaryius Thomas signed a 5 year, $70 million contract with the Denver Broncos and $43.5 million was guaranteed. And the 4 year, $60M, $32.75M guaranteed that A.J. Green signed with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Do you guys think the Bears and Jeffery will work out a long term contract before the July 15 deadline? If so what kind of deal are you predicting?
