Jeff Dickerson is reporting that Alshon Jeffery was a no-show at the Bears workout sessions. While Jeffery signed his franchise tender, he is training in South Florida instead of being a part of the Bears workout program.
It is not uncommon for a player under the franchise tag to train elsewhere at this part of the process, and the Bears were made aware of his intention to be absent in advance. However, the good news is that he is expected to return in time for the mandatory veteran minicamp.
Jeffery has already had a somewhat up-and-down offseason, as his agent, Eugene Parker, passed away in March. At this point, there is no big cause for concern, however the Bears are going to need Jeffery to be at his best, and his history of injuries might make Bears fans nervous. On the other hand, if he's back by June, there should be little reason to worry.
