Bears Sign Leonard Floyd

Multiple sources are reporting that the Bears have agreed to terms with the ninth overall pick in the 2016 draft.

Gone are the days when Cliff Stein would hammer out contracts faster than the blink of an eye. However, the Bears never really seemed worried about this one. Leonard Floyd was at team events and he was impressing Pro-Bowler Kyle Long with his athleticism even as community members were wondering when the deal would be inked.

Bears fans need not worry anymore. Leonard Floyd has agreed to terms with the Chicago Bears. Specific details are still forthcoming, but most of the contract will be dictated by the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. In any event, the move leaves only Jonathan Bullard without a contract.

With his new deal in place, Floyd should be able to afford as much pizza as he can pack onto his lanky frame. Of course, more important than the numbers in the contract are the numbers on the field. Here's hoping Floyd can stay healthy and can focus on becoming the pass-rushing threat Bears fans want to see in Navy and Orange.
