Chicago Bears' wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, who has skipped the voluntary portion of the Bears' offseason so far, has reported to Halas Hall in advance of this weeks mandatory minicamp.
The pro bowl wide out is currently playing under the franchise tag as he awaits a long term deal that may or may not be on the horizon. Multiple reports claim that the Bears will allow Jeffery to play 2016 under the tag instead of hammering out a contract, but technically they have until July 15th to decide.
The Bears would have obviously liked to have had Jeffery in their offseason workout program, learning the nuances and differences in Chicago's "new" offense as directed by new play caller Dowell Loggains, but he chosen to train in Miami so far.
The three day minicamp will run starting tomorrow, Tuesday, June 14th through Thursday, June 16th. The practices are not open to the public, but the media will have access. If anything newsworthy pops up during camp, we'll be sure to pass it along.
