Yesterday Chicago Bears wide receiver Marquess Wilson left practice early with an injury and details of that injury are now coming out. Head coach John Fox told the media that Wilson suffered a broken left foot that will require surgery. If you remember, Wilson missed the last 5 games of the 2015 season with a broken left foot, and injuries have been a common theme during his three years as a pro.
Fox says that Wilson could begin the season on the PUP list, but this injury could be one that pushes him off the roster completely. Alshon Jeffery, Kevin White and Eddie Royal are all ahead of him of the depth chart and Wilson has never been much of a special teams performer. Veterans Deonte Thompson, Marc Mariani, Josh Bellamy and Cameron Meredith all played some in the 3rd phase last year. Rookie Daniel Braverman and the four undrafted rookies may be able to push some of the veteran backups too.
What are your thoughts on Wilson's Bears' career?
