The Chicago Bears reported for training camp today, with their first practice slated for tomorrow morning, but they will be without three players. They have announced that outside linebacker Pernell McPhee, offensive lineman Amini Silatolu and wide receiver Marquess Wilson will all begin camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
McPhee has been rehabbing his left knee after having arthroscopic surgery in February, and Bears' general manager Ryan Pace says it's too early to tell if he will play in the preseason. McPhee is down about 10 pounds from last year to try and alleviate some pressure off his knee. McPhee on the PUP is most likely just a precautionary thing, but the Bears will take their time with their 38 million dollar man.
Silatolu is still rehabbing after he tore his ACL in November and reports have him close to being ready to go. Once he's cleared he'll try and win the left guard job.
Wilson broke his foot in June, so of these three, I wouldn't expect Wilson to come off the PUP until the season is well underway.
What are your thoughts on these three heading to the PUP list?
