The first day of Chicago Bears’ training camp is in the books and there were a few injury scares we need to address right away.
The biggest worry was when #1 draft pick Leonard Floyd was carted off the field, but head coach John Fox said that Floyd had been battling an illness the last few days and that’s all this was. “He was sick,” Fox said after practice. “He tried to go. He’s a tough kid; he just didn’t make it through.”
Floyd tried to get back on the field, but the trainers insisted that he rest up due to a stomach bug.
Two other Bears left practice due to illness as well, rookie outside linebacker Roy Robertson-Harris and tackle Nick Becton.
More notable was Kyle Long not finishing practice because of a calf issue, but speculation is that was simply cramps.
EDIT: Maybe we should be concerned...
Kyle Long arrived for lunch w a boot on his left leg. So that's more than cramps. Stay tuned.

Tight end Khari Lee has a legitimate injury however, as he wasn’t able to finish practice because he sprained an AC joint in his shoulder.
Wide out Alshon Jeffery looks like the summer away from the voluntary workouts had no affect on his play. He looked fast and more importantly, healthy, making play after play. When asked what team has the best wide receivers in the NFL, Jeffery matter-of-factly said “the Chicago Bears.”
Let’s hope he knows what he’s talking about.
Jay Cutler and Alshon Jeffery are in sync on Day 1 of camp. The Bears have their big target back and looking sharp at receiver.

#Bears WR Alshon Jeffery splits defense, gets behind S Adrian Amos and takes it to the house for 80-yard TD, easily outrunning Amos to EZ.

Alshon Jeffery just shed Kyle Fuller for another deep ball TD. I believe it would have drawn a penalty. But impressive nonetheless.

Highlight of first day of #Bears camp: Alshon Jeffery grabs tipped pass over defenders and takes it the distance untouched.

When quarterback Jay Cutler was asked how it felt having both Jeffery and 2015 #1 draft pick Kevin White on the field and healthy he said "Nice, nice!"
Rookie Cody Whitehair was spotted snapping the ball to back up QB Brian Hoyer, but when the Bears lined up on offense for the first time he was at left guard. Hroniss Grasu was at center, with Charles Leno at left tackle, Kyle Long at right guard and Bobby Massie at right tackle. I believe this is the five that the Bears hope can win the jobs.
Jeremy Langford was the first running back with the offense and fullback Paul Lasike was in there as well.
Here are a few other tweets from minicamp.
Akiem Hicks, a 336-pound man, burst downfield after Jeremy Langford. He is a freakish athlete for his size. #Bears

Kevin Mawae, an 8-time Pro Bowl performer, in camp helping out #Bears OL. Should help C Hroniss Grasu particularly.

David Fales completes a bomb to Josh Bellamy who got behind the defense. Bellamy dove, caught it, got back up for the TD.
