I have a good friend that is all about the fashion trends in the sports world. He updates me on uniform changes in the major pro sports as well as colleges. When Nike took over the NFL’s uniforms he was excited to see what they would come up with for some teams, (FYI, he dug the Seattle unis, but not the Browns’ unis), but his preference is for teams to stay traditional.
His big gripe about Nike’s unis are the “sweat-box,” which is the sewn in box on players stomachs that ends up looking like a different shade of the jersey. It just makes the uniform too busy looking. He’s also big on the placement of the TV numbers and the stripes on the sleeves. He was sure to point out to me that the Chicago Bears are one of a handful of teams that have a different stripe pattern on their home and away jerseys.
When teams started doing the matte finish on their helmets, he was a big fan, although he didn’t like what the Jags ended up with.
But as soon as he told me his favorite Bears look was the Navy on Navy I lost all respect for him. He even went as far as saying the Bears should rock some orange pants, just like that old mistake in that one Madden game.

Awful...
The only thing I dislike more than those old Orange jerseys the Bears’ wore for a few years, is the Navy on Navy home look.
He would also like the Bears to incorporate an orange face-mask and a matte finish on their helmets.
Here are his preferred uni combinations for the home and road;
Home 1) Navy jersey, Navy, pants (Awful)
Home 2) Navy jersey, Orange pants (Even more awful)
Home 3) Navy jersey, White pants (The current look)
Away 1) White jersey, White pants (I like it!)
Away 2) White jersey, Orange pants (Ugh...)
Away 3) White jersey, Navy pants (The current look)
His reasoning for mixing in some Orange, “It’s fun!”
Here’s the schedule from the Bears this year.

I’m also a fan of the White on White, and here’s a little fun fact for you guys, the Bears did go with that color combo during the mid 1980s and the mid 2000s, and if memory serves me correctly, they were pretty good during that time. #JustSaying
Let us know in the comment section your preferred Chicago uniform combination and if you’d make any changes to the current Bears’ uni.
