The Chicago Bears have made the necessary five roster subtractions to get down to the mandated 75 players. Here are the details on the roster moves.
Undrafted rookie Jarrett Grace, ILB from Notre Dame was waived.
Veteran Lamin Barrow, ILB from LSU was waived/injured.
Rookie UDFA Roy Robertson-Harris, OLB from UTEP was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list.
Center Hroniss Grasu and quarterback Connor Shaw were both placed on the reserve/injured list.
The Bears will be able to keep the promising Robertson-Harris around the team since he’s on the reserve/non-football illness list. Larry Mayer of chicagobears.com said that RRH “has missed several practices due to an undisclosed illness.” He will be eligible to be activated after 6 weeks.
In case you missed it, here are the nine players the Bears waived on Sunday;
Keith Browner, DL, California
Kieran Duncan, WR, Colorado State Pueblo
Derek Keaton, WR, Georgia Southern
John Kling, OL, Buffalo
Senorise Perry, RB, Louisville
Darrin Peterson, WR, Liberty
Joel Ross, DB, Appalachian State
Gannon Sinclair, TE, Missouri State
Martin Wallace, OL, Temple
The Bears also terminated the contract of fullback and vested veteran Darrell Young.
The final cut down date in September 3rd, when teams need to be down to 53 by 3pm central.
FYI, the 53 guys I predicted for the Bears opening day roster are all still around.
