Yesterday we brought you the reports on a few expected roster moves for the Chicago Bears, but now they are all officially announced.
Last night they made official the placement of corner Brandon Boykin on the reserved/injured list with a torn pectoral muscle. The corresponding move was to add Joel Ross, a 5'10", 2015 UDFA from Appalachian State who was on the Bucs practice squad last year. Ross has also taken the number 22 that was last worn by Boykin.
Today they announced that fullback Darrell Young was signed, with the corresponding move the release of UDFA rookie Joe Sommers. Sommers played tight end at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, but was competing at fullback in camp.
Young, a 6 year veteran that has played as a lead blocker in a zone blocking scheme, will now compete with holdover fullback Paul Lasike.
Chicago also announced that offensive guard Amini Silatolu has also passed his physical and will come off the PUP list.
