Chicago Bears’ Ryan Pace and John Fox end of the season press conference

NFL: Preseason-Miami Dolphins at Chicago Bears Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

After the take-a-step-back three win season, we finally get a chance to hear from Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace. Him, along with head coach John Fox, will meet the media today at 11am.

Hopefully the mood at the presser will be a little less arrogant and a little more apologetic.

Get ready for Pace to give reason's why this team is on the right track, even though they’ve gone from 6-10 to 3-13 in what should have been a season of improvement. Get ready to hear the ‘nineteen players on injured reserve excuse’ used, and get ready for plenty of glass half fullisms about how the young players gained valuable experience.

But, if we’re to believe the early buzz from Halas Hall, don’t expect to hear about many coaching staff changes.

There was one change made however, running backs coach Stan Drayton is leaving to join the staff at the University of Texas.

EDIT: The Bears have parted ways with two long time John Fox assistant coaches. Offensive line coach Dave Magazu and assistant defensive backs coach Sam Garnes. Brad Biggs reported that there was friction between Magazu and the o-linemen during the season. Hall Of Fame finalist Kevin Mawae, who was an offensive assistant in 2016 and assistant offensive line coach Ben Wilkerson are still on staff.

You can watch the press conference live at ChicagoBears.com, on the Bears’ Facebook page, or at CSNChicago.com. After the presser we’ll have a recap up, but in the meantime, talk all about it here in this Open Thread.

And be mindful that Open Threads are rated WCG-MA.
