Chicago Bears’ general manager Ryan Pace has mentioned in the past how important it is to draft quarterbacks, but through two NFL Drafts, he’s yet to pull the trigger on a rookie signal caller.
That changes this offseason.
At yesterday’s press conference, Pace made it very clear that he’s got to go get a guy this year. He used the word “critical” multiple times when addressing the importance of making the right decision at quarterback. He said that “everything’s on the table” when talking about picking the QBs that will make up his 2017 depth chart and I think his everything may include all the options he mentioned.
He has to get a veteran in to serve as the bridge-guy (a term I’m already sick of hearing), and he’ll get him either via free agency or trade and maybe one of each. But he also has to get the future guy.
In my latest T Formation Conversation podcast (Subscribe now on iTunes!) I discuss the 2017 quarterback options for the Bears.
Give it a listen and let me know what you guys think.
