Outside Linebackers coach Clint Hurtt leaves Chicago Bears’ staff

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune was the first to report that Chicago Bears’ outside linebackers coach Clint Hurtt passed on a contract extension and will take his coaching talents elsewhere.

If you remember, Miami Dolphins’ head coach Adam Gase wanted to bring Hurtt with him to Miami last offfseason, to serve as the Dolphins defensive line coach, but the Bears blocked the move.

Hurtt was originally added as a part of Marc Trestman’s coaching staff where he was the defensive line coach from 2013-2014. Last season, Bears’ head coach John Fox had Hurtt working with the outside linebackers.

This will be the 4th assistant coach to depart Fox’s staff, joining running backs coach Stan Drayton, who took a job with the University of Texas, and the Bears reportedly fired offensive line coach Dave Magazu and assistant defensive backs coach Sam Garnes.
