It’s no secret that Mitch Trubisky might be the quarterback the Bears need him to be and can be a long term solution to the biggest deficiency in the history of the franchise.
It’s also no secret that he has very few weapons around him to throw to.
Well, the Bears have decided to do something about that and on Tuesday morning they announced that they are promoting Tanner Gentry back to the active roster from the practice squad.
#Bears are promoting WR Tanner Gentry to the active roster. He has a strong rapport with QB Mitch Trubisky. Story: https://t.co/wofTnwT143

He’s baaaack!! Now with Mitchell Trubisky!
Gentry had a strong preseason and was promoted to the roster for the Week 2 game, which turned out to be an ugly loss in Tampa Bay. Gentry caught two passes for 27 yards in that game.
Playing with Trubisky in the preseason, Gentry caught four passes for 77 yards and a great 45-yard touchdown against the Tennessee Titans.
Gentry will immediately come in with more rapport with the rookie QB than perhaps any receiver currently on the roster. They’ve been working together all offseason.
EDIT: The move is now official.
Roster Update: We have promoted Tanner Gentry to our active roster and released Deonte Thompson.

What do you think about Gentry being activated?
