Another blow to an already depleted WR corps came down Thursday as word leaked out that WR Markus Wheaton tore his groin and would be out 4-6 weeks, according to Chicago Sun-Times reporter Adam Jahns.
League sources: #Bears WR Markus Wheaton has a tear in his groin and could miss 4-6 weeks.

Wheaton was signed to a 2-year $11 million contract with $6 million guaranteed and for that he has just one catch for four yards in three games on nine targets. According to PFR, that is an 11.1 percent catch rate.
Wheaton missed time in the preseason and the first two games after he broke his finger and that was after he missed another couple weeks of training camp following an emergency appendectomy. Another blow to a depleted position group and a bad signing.
Even if Wheaton can come back this season, the Bears in no way can count on him after all this.
What do you think of the Wheaton signing? Is this good news for Tanner Gentry? Should the Bears expect anything from Wheaton should he return?
