Each week we’re setting aside this time slot to provide a forum for fantasy football conversation. Bring your questions about who to start / sit in the comment section. We’ll also grade trades and listen to how great your team is - seriously, no one else is going to do that. Let’s help each other win our leagues to ensure bragging rights around the neighborhood.
Between the Cubs game and the Eagles - Panthers game, there was plenty of craziness to unpack. It wasn’t until this morning when I looked at the stat sheet and realized that Christian McCaffrey hauled in 10 of 14 targets for 56 yards and a score. His rushing attempts were a paltry 4 for 8 yards, but that was infinitely greater than Jonathan Stewart’s night (8 carries for -4 yards).
What do we make of McCaffrey? If you’re in a PPR league, you’ll take that effort every week. If you’re in a standard league, he’s more of a fringe flex type player. Game flow being what it was, McCaffrey was on the field constantly, but he never broke any significant chunk plays (hat tip to the Eagles defense) nor did he connect on anything deep. However, I’m encouraged with his ability and usage. I have one share of McCaffrey in a half point PPR league and I think he’s only going to get better. Imagine where he’ll be next year if Carolina parts ways with Jonathan Stewart and gives more carries to McCaffrey.
Around the rest of the league, we’re in a light bye week with Bills, Bengals, Seahawks, and Cowboys taking a break. Oh yeah, that Zeke Elliot guy...looks like that suspension should be back on to the delight of everyone in your league who doesn’t own him. It’s anyone’s guess as to how they carries will be dished out in Zeke’s absence and I didn’t pick up either Alfred Morris or Darren McFadden anywhere. Who’s Team Alf and who’s Team Run DMC?
Where are you guys at in your leagues? How confident are you that you’re managing a playoff team? Hit up the comment section for your fantasy questions!
