Each week we’re setting aside this time slot to provide a forum for fantasy football conversation. Bring your questions about who to start / sit in the comment section. We’ll also grade trades and listen to how great your team is - seriously, no one else is going to do that. Let’s help each other win our leagues to ensure bragging rights around the neighborhood.
What an offensive explosion! (And I’m not talking about Kike Hernandez) Amari Cooper, who was in the witness protection program through the first 6 games, turned in a night for the ages with an 11 catch (19 targets!), 210 yard, 2 score performance. I want to hear it if he was on your bench or, gasp, you dropped him. I luckily left Cooper in the lineup (not without reservations) in one league while getting torched by Cooper and Carr in another. Being down 87 - 11 on Friday isn’t very fun...
So, what do we do with this information? Is Cooper back? Is Carr back? Do we try to sell high after a one week explosion or ride it out? I scooped up Carr off the waivers in one league but he’s sitting behind Drew Brees who I have a very difficult time sitting. I would love to move him but he’ll need more than one good game for people to bite if only because of the number of good fantasy quarterbacks out there. Cooper might be a better trade chip but I’ll be holding on to him. I drafted Cooper in the 2nd round and am counting on him to put up 100 yards and a score on a consistent basis. Sometimes you have to live and die by your choices in life. If you held him this long, might as well ride this out.
On the other side, quietly, Kareem Hunt went over 100 scrimmage yards, Travis Kelce caught a score, Tyreek Hill had a great night (125 and a score), and Alex Smith continues his exceptional campaign. If you had targeted Chiefs in your draft you have done well.
What’s going on with you? Did the Chiefs / Raiders game impact your line and if so, are you happy or shutting down your fantasy app for the weekend?
