Yesterday the news broke that the Chicago Bears were making a trade for Chargers wide receiver Dontrelle Inman. The Bears sent a conditional seventh round pick to Los Angeles in exchange for the 28-year old fourth year pro.
That trade should be made official at some point today, and his addition means the Bears have to make a roster move. The Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs is reporting that the Bears are placing linebacker Jonathan Anderson on waivers.
The 25-year old Anderson is in his third season with the Bears, and if he clears waivers he will likely be added to Chicago’s practice squad. This season he has played in six games, with the bulk of his playing time coming on special teams where he has made four tackles.
With the Bears releasing Anderson, that’s a good indication that inside linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski will be ready to play on Sunday. Kwiatkoski has been missing since injuring his pectoral muscle week two.
