Chicago Bears vs Minnesota Vikings: Monday Night Football Pre-Party Open Thread

We all know why we’re here tonight.

NFL: Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

What more could a football fan want in a week to make their Monday better? Their own team playing on Monday night, a divisional game... Oh, maybe just the NFL debut of their first-round pick and potential quarterback of the future after their starting veteran quarterback displays the mobility of a Thwomp and throwing accuracy of a Hammer Bro.

It’s Mitchell Trubisky day, and clearly, the thought that the Bears may have their quarterback of the future starting has many of the WCG staff expressing some possibility of excitement if not outright picking the team to win his debut. And if there’s any time to be optimistic about your team’s future, it may as well be now.

No, the Vikings won’t make it easy, given the playmakers and the defense at their disposal, but the Navy and Orange picked prime time, against a stout defense and a divisional foe, to start their future.

This is your Pre-Party Open Thread. No stream today, we’ll resume those on Sunday morning. But the particulars for today: First quarter thread will go live as soon as the game starts, with subsequent threads popping as the game goes on. Patti will have the instant recap tonight, with all the details and analysis coming tomorrow.

As always, Open Thread Responsibly (TM).
