From training camp star, to watching the game from afar, Bears wide receiver Tanner Gentry has been waived....again. According to the team, they are hoping to re-sign him to the practice squad, should he clear waivers.
With the trade for Dontrelle Inman on October 25th, and Markus Wheaton getting healthy over the bye week, Gentry became expendable. In 4 games for the Bears, Gentry only received 6 targets, resulting in 3 catches for 35 yards.
With Tre McBride III having a solid 3 catch, 92 yard performance against the Saints, Inman, Wheaton, and Kendall Wright, the Bears receiving corps are starting to look competent.

In a corresponding move, inside linebacker Jonathan Anderson has been signed to the 53-man roster. This move would appear to suggest that Danny Trevathan will be inactive against the Packers on Sunday. Against an injury-plagued Packers offense, Christian Jones and Nick Kwiatkoski will likely get the nod, while Trevathan takes an extra week to heal a calf injury.
