Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers: NFL Week 10 Pre-Game Livestream and Open Thread

New, comments

The Bears return from their bye week to play a Packers team in shambles. Can they begin the climb back to .500 this week?

NFL: Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning. Welcome back from the bye to the start of a potential new era in Bears-Packers history.

Okay, let’s not get out over our skis yet, as Mitchell Trubisky is starting his fifth NFL game and the Brett Hundley experience in Green Bay is but a temporary measure. But the Packers since Aaron Rodgers went down haven’t exactly been the most inspiring unit, coupled with a torn-asunder offensive line that’s allowed 27 sacks on the first 8 games.

The first time the Bears and Packers faced off this year, Mike Glennon had one of his “bad bad bad” games where the team coughed up the ball four times in a national-television beatdown. Since then, the Packers won a shootout against the Cowboys before losing three straight.

With Trubisky at the helm, no, the Navy and Orange themselves haven’t set the world on fire, but if they hope Trubisky is the quarterback of the future, this would be a fine game to start the cementing of that position.

Can the Bears right the ship of the rivalry? Let’s go.

A quick refresher of the gameday procedures, of course, because since the game starts at noon central, the first quarter thread will pop at noon with each subsequent thread popping up as the game goes on. After the game, Patti will have immediate postgame reaction, and tomorrow we’ll start up with our analysis and breakdowns of the game, as well as some looks on what’s to come in the bye week and beyond.

So with all the propers out of the way... Bear Down.

The WCG Sunday Livestream makes its return from the bye week hoping to reverse the trend of last time: Bears go on a 2-game win streak in the Livestream’s inadvertent absence, the Stream returns and the Bears lose. Sam and I are going to break down why that coincidence doesn’t really matter, as well as discuss our bye weeks and maybe get into Bears/Saints and Bears/Packers. Okay, lots of Bears/Saints and Bears/Packers.
