The Chicago Bears waived wide receiver Tre McBride on Tuesday, the team announced.

The third-year wide out was picked up on September 3. He started in three games this season, totaling eight receptions for 144 yards. His most notable game of the season came in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints, when he caught three passes for 92 yards.

McBride saw a decent amount of time this Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, so this move comes as a bit of a surprise. He ended the game with two receptions for 20 yards on 43 offensive downs. No corresponding roster move has been made as of this writing.

The Bears do have some wide receiver options on the practice squad in Nelson Spruce, DeMarcus Ayers and Tanner Gentry.

Also if the concussion suffered by Josh Sitton is going to keep him out for long, the Bears have a few offensive linemen on the practice squad that could get the call up as well.

Once the Bears announce a move, we’ll pass the info along.
