All statistics and snap counts are taken directly from the NFL's Game Statistic and Information System.
This was an absolute ass kicking by the Chicago Bears. Top to bottom, offensively and defensively the Cincinnati Bengals were outclassed between the lines. Part of that is due to the large number of injured Bengals, but as you all surely know, the Bears are really banged up as well. The Bears beat a bad team, but that’s okay. The Bears can’t climb up to respectability until they consistently beat bad teams.
The Bears had more first downs, 29 to 14. More total yards, 482 to 234. The time of possession was in Chicago’s favor, 38:09 to 21:51. Total plays went to the Bears as well, 72 to 53.
The Bengals did have fewer penalties than the Bears, 7 for 56 yards to 10 for 74.
Now on to the snap counts and some other stats for the Bears
All snap counts will be in the following format:
Player - Total O or D snaps (%) - Total ST snaps (%)
QB
M Trubisky - 76 (100%)
This was the Mitchell Trubisky breakout game we’ve all been waiting for. He’s the first rookie quarterback for the Bears to have a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown in the same game since this guy.

Sam dug up some interesting stats.
And with 271 yards passing Trubisky moves solely into second place in #Bears franchise record for rookie passing yards. He trails Kyle Orton by 368 yards with three games to play. He needs 4 TD passes to break that rookie record in the modern era (Charlie O'Rourke had 11 in 1942)

Bears fans have been clamoring for some quicker passer from the offense, and tey finally incorporated that into the game plan. Check out this nugget from Pro Football Focus.
On passes that took 2.5 seconds or less, he went 13-of-14 for a passer rating of 123.2. He was 12-of-17 for a passer rating of 100.4 on passes taking longer than 2.5 seconds.
PFF also had Trubisky “under pressure on 10 of his 34 drop backs, going 6-of-8 for 74 yards with one dropped pass.” His ability to keep his eyes up while being pressured was something we saw him do in college, but hasn’t translated completely yet to the pro game. His comfort in the offense will allow this to be the norm.
This is the kind of quarterbacking I want to see to close out the 2017 season.

Every one of these guys, except Bobby Massie, was flagged for an infraction.

WR
D Inman - 67 88%
J Bellamy WR 48 63%
K Wright WR 47 62%
M Wheaton WR 7 9%
Josh Bellamy keeps making the roster because of his exceptional special teams ability, so I find it odd that he didn’t play on special teams. He did have 2 catches for 56 yards.
Kendall Wright led the Bears with 10 grabs (on 11 targets) for 107 yards.
TE
D Sims - 49 (64%) - 6 (25%)
A Shaheen - 32 (42%) - 6 (25%)
D Brown - 19 (25%) - 17 (71%)
The tight ends combined for 8 receptions (on 10 targets), for 85 yards and a TD.
ST
These players only appeared in the 3rd phase
B Braunecker - 16 (67%)
M Nugent - 13 (54%)
P O'Donnell - 9 (38%)
A DePaola - 9 (38%)
B Sowell - 6 (25%)
New Bears kicker Mike Nugent missed his first extra point, but he made both field goals. Pat O’Donnell put 2 of his 3 punts inside the 20, and he had a 47.3 average.
CB
K Fuller - 54 100% - 3 (12%)
P Amukamara - 53 (98%) - 3 (12%)
B Callahan - 44 (81%)
S McManis - 5 (9%) - 17 (71%)
M Cooper - 2 (4%) - 12 (50%)
C LeBlanc - 2 (4%)
D Hall - 1 (2%) - 12 (50%)
Prince Amukamara had 6 tackles and a pass defense.
Kyle Fuller had 3 tackles and according to PFF, “he was targeted 9 times on 41 coverage snaps, allowing only three catches for 14 yards with three pass breakups. He only allowed one yard after the catch, and he gave up just a 42.4 passer rating when targeted.”
S
E Jackson FS 54 100% 8 33%
C Prosinski FS 49 91% 2 8%
D Bush SS 4 7% 12 50%
Eddie Jackson had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and an interception, to go along with with 4 tackles. PFF wasn’t completely fond of his day saying that “he allowed catches on all three of his targets in coverage for a total of 46 yards, good for 15.6 yards per catch. If not for his interception, he would have allowed a 118.8 passer rating when targeted, which dropped down to 79.2 with the tipped pick.”
Chris Proisinski had 2 tackles.
LB
N Kwiatkoski - 46 (85%) - 4 (17%)
D Trevathan LB 45 (83%) - 1 (4%)
S Acho - 40 (74%) - 7 (29%)
L Houston - 39 (72%)
H Jones - 15 (28%)
C Jones - 10 (19%) - 18 (75%)
J Timu - 9 (17%) - 17 (71%)
Danny Trevathan led the Bears with 10 tackles and he had a PD. In five of the nine games he’s played in, he’s had double digit tackles.
Nick Kwiatkoski had 2 PD and 3 tackles and John Timu had a tackle.
Sam Acho had 4 tackles and a QBH, and according to PFF he “accumulated five hurries on 19 pass-rushing snaps.”
Lamarr Houston and Howard Jones each had a sack and a TFL.
DL
A Hicks - 48 (89%) - 1 (4%)
J Bullard - 31 (57%) - 2 (8%)
R Robertson-Harris - 19 (35%) - 5 (21%)
J Jenkins - 14 (26%) - 8 (33%)
R Coward - 10 (19%) - 1 (4%)
In case you missed it, the Bears waived linebacker Jonathan Anderson and activated Rashaad Coward from the practice squad before the game. Coward had 1 QBH in his debut.
John Jenkins had 2 tackles.
Roy Robertson-Harris had the first sack of his career.
Akeim Hicks only had 1 tackle, but PFF said he “generated four hurries on his 36 pass-rushing snaps.”
Bengal QB Andy Dalton was held to a passer rating of 59.7, and A.J. Green only caught 5 of the 12 passes thrown his way for 64 yards.
Here’s one final nugget from PFF.
The Bears' pass rush pressured Bengals QB Andy Dalton on nine of his 31 drop backs, and he went 3-of-7 for 46 yards and a touchdown while under pressure. Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio dialed up the blitz only five times in the game.
For more numbers, the ESPN box score and team stats are both pretty good ones to check out for all of the game’s statistics.
Did any of these numbers stand out to you guys?
