The 2016 NFL season finally comes to a close today, with the New England Patriots and Atlanta Flacons facing off for the Super Bowl LI championship.
Anyone that was surprised that the Patriots made it this far are not likely huge followers of the NFL over the past decade and a half, but to see Atlanta representing the NFC did turn a few heads.
The Falcons mowed through everyone in a very tough and competitive conference, which had teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers showing all the signs late in the season capable of playing championship caliber football.
But the Falcons out-muscled all of their competition, and could very well play spoiler to a Patriots team that once again seems destined to hoist the Lombardi Trophy when it’s all said and done.
Which team will close out the season with a notch in their belt? Stay tuned...
This is your Falcons versus Patriots Super Bowl Open Thread... Have fun!
