The Chicago Bears gave quarterback Mike Glennon a three year contract, with the majority of his money due in 2017, making it essentially a one year deal. Glennon may go into 2017 as the #1 QB on the depth chart, but it will be up to him how long he keeps the job.
The Bears gave Mark Sanchez a one year contract, which caused the majority of Bears’ fans to lose their minds, but in my opinion, he’s only coming in as a potential #3 QB. He was a good teammate to rookie Dak Prescott in Dallas last season, and he has a reputation of being a good guy around the NFL, so I’m not that worked up over the signing.
That is, unless the Bears try and sell us on a Glennon/Sanchez future. In that case, I’ll join Kev on a Blues Brothers inspired road trip and we’ll drive a 1974 Dodge Monaco right through Halas Hall.
But, there’s no way in Hell the Bears are passing on a quarterback in the 2017 NFL Draft. I don’t care what Adam Schefter says, the Bears will draft a quarterback next month.
Book it.
So, when they do draft a QB, which one are you hoping it will be?
