It has been an interesting 2017 NFL Draft for the Chicago Bears so far.
The Chicago Bears pick Alabama safety, Eddie Jackson with their first pick of the 4th round (112th pick).
They made a trade with the L.A. Rams to move up and grab Jackson (6’, 201), trading their 4th round pick (117th overall) and their 6th round pick (197th overall).
Jackson is a true centerfield type of safety, but he has an injury history. During his time at Alabama, tore his right ACL in 2014 and he broke his leg last year. He also had a screw removed earlier this week in a minor procedure, but he should be ready to go for Chicago’s offseason program.
He has experience at both safety and corner, plus he has returned some punts during the 2016 season. His best year was 2015, when he had 6 interceptions.
