Last offseason, one of the hottest names on the free agent market was the Kansas City Chiefs’ Jaye Howard. He ended up re-signing with K.C. on a two year deal worth around $12 million, but his stay with the Chiefs only lasted one year, as they released him last week on April 24 after a failed physical.
Earlier today it was reported that Howard was visiting the Chicago Bears, and if healthy, this guy will be an immediate starter on Chicago’s defensive line.
Howard only played in eight games last year, before going on injured reserved with a hip flexor injury. His best season as a pro came in 2015, when he played in all 16 games, starting 14, while picking up 5.5 sacks.
The 28 year old Howard is listed at 6’3”, 301 pounds, and he could play play anywhere along Chicago’s defensive line. The obvious key is his health.
What are your thoughts on the Bears possibly adding Howard?
