Some of you may have seen or heard mention of Trubisky's game vs Virginia Tech which was played during Hurricane Matthew. It seems fair to take a look at his non-hurricane stats when comparing him to other QB prospects who spent their college careers avoiding hurricanes. I'm no meteorologist, but I can imagine that heavy downpour and unpredictable violent gusts of wind could affect one's ability to throw and catch a football.

In the interest of being optimistic about Trubisky, I put the above chart together, showing his 2016 play, the hurricane, and what his stats would be excluding the hurricane game. As you see, his completion percentage bumps over 70 percent, his yards per attempt approaches 9, and his TD:INT is an impressive 7.5! If you add his rushing TDs (which is probably cheating) this pushes 9 TDs per INT.

Other recent QB prospect stats in the last year of college are posted below for comparison. Trubisky's Hurricane-free stats certainly compare favorably to some of the best young QBs in the league. Of this list, only Andrew Luck had a higher completion percentage, only Mariota and Bortles had better yards per attempt, and only Mariota had a better TD:INT ratio.

Obviously, stats aren't everything, but these numbers certainly do make me feel more optimistic about Mr. Biscuit bringing some gravy to Chicago!
