Brett Kollmann, who writes at our sister site, Battle Red Blog covering the Houston Texans, also does fantastic work on his YouTube channel with the NFL in general. His latest Film Room breakdown is of Chicago Bears’ running back, Jordan Howard, and we had to share it with you guys.
Howard had a fantastic rookie season, making the Pro Bowl and coming in as the league’s second leading rusher, but he’s not satisfied. He vows to improve as a receiver out of the backfield, and that has been a focus of him in practice so far. "There's still room to improve," Howard told the Chicago Tribune on Tuesday, "but I definitely feel like I've made a big step up from last year."
Howard has also spent time this offseason working on his conditioning so he doesn’t stall out on those big gainers. He had 12 runs of 20+ yards. "Sometimes, I had those long runs then we ended up stalling and not getting any points, I definitely have to finish in the end zone on my long runs."
He’s been putting in the hard work, to get to his ultimate goal, "I'm definitely trying to be the No. 1 rusher in the league this year.”
With his attitude and work ethic, I wouldn’t bet against him.
