Today marks the day that Bears players ‘storm the dorm’ at Olivet Nazarene University to embark on the journey of the 2017 season. While practices don’t start until tomorrow, we were able to glean a few nuggets of information from the head men in charge.

Here is what Head Coach John Fox had to say:
Fox: "this is the deepest most competitive team we've had."
— Robert Zeglinski (@RobertZeglinski) July 26, 2017
#Bears coach John Fox tweaking the schedule to make sure team is healthy: "We're not going to go 3 hard days in a row."
— Zach Zaidman (@ZachZaidman) July 26, 2017
This is the first of several notes about sport science and health.
Fox: "I don't like putting records on seasons." Says optimism is high and this is best roster in 3 years with #Bears
— Brad Biggs (@BradBiggs) July 26, 2017
Hmmm...sounds like Fox knows his job may be on the line...
#Bears coach John Fox on job security after 9 wins in 2 years: "I'm beyond feeling the pressure part of it."
— Zach Zaidman (@ZachZaidman) July 26, 2017
...confirmed.
Fox: "A year ago at this time we weren't talking about Jordan Howard." #Bears
— Jake Perper (@BearsBacker) July 26, 2017
This speaks volumes honestly.
Bears Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton had a child and won't report until Saturday morning said John Fox.
— Robert Zeglinski (@RobertZeglinski) July 26, 2017
Congrats big man! Josh Sitton is having a baby!
General Manager Ryan Pace gave us a little bit more information on injuries, Fox’s future and the direction of the team:
Pace, on Danny Trevathan's PUP chances: "There's a chance he might be ready to roll."
— Robert Zeglinski (@RobertZeglinski) July 26, 2017
I am not sure I believe this...Danny Trevethan had a pretty brutal injury.
#Bears GM Ryan Pace not announcing health status of players until conditioning test later today.
— Zach Zaidman (@ZachZaidman) July 26, 2017
I guess we will find out later today then.
Pace on what Glennon brings to the table: "A veteran, leads in the huddle, meeting rooms."
— Robert Zeglinski (@RobertZeglinski) July 26, 2017
Nothing surprising here...
Pace on Trubisky: "We are going to be paying attention to his accuracy, ball placement and how he handles the huddle." #Bears
— Jake Perper (@BearsBacker) July 26, 2017
...or here.
#Bears GM Ryan Pace on QB Mitchell Trubisky: "I just think you've got to bring these guys along the right way."
— Zach Zaidman (@ZachZaidman) July 26, 2017
This is about what we expected. He needs to drill the fundamentals first.
#Bears GM Ryan Pace on WR Kevin White: "He's ready to go."
— Zach Zaidman (@ZachZaidman) July 26, 2017
Pace on Kevin White needing any restrictions in camp: "He's ready to go ... he's pretty much unleashed."
— Robert Zeglinski (@RobertZeglinski) July 26, 2017
Pace on White: "Just him playing faster. I think that comes with confidence. We saw that in OTA's and we expect that to continue." #Bears
— Jake Perper (@BearsBacker) July 26, 2017
I sure hope so. I am very interested to see what Kevin White looks like.
Pace: "Mike Glennon is our starting quarterback."
— Brad Biggs (@BradBiggs) July 26, 2017
It’s his year!
#Bears GM Ryan Pace- "We'll keep contract talks internal" when asked about Akiem Hicks, etc.
— Aaron Leming (@AaronLemingNFL) July 26, 2017
This will hopefully get done shortly. Akiem Hicks is still an ascending player.
#Bears GM Ryan Pace says the team will be tracking players to use sports science as a way of avoiding injuries via chip in their pads.
— Zach Zaidman (@ZachZaidman) July 26, 2017
#Bears are using player tracking this year, with a tracker in every player’s shoulder pads. Measures training load, speed, movement, etc.
— Adam Hoge (@AdamHoge) July 26, 2017
This is very interesting, the Bears have joined the 21st Century!
#Bears GM Ryan Pace emphasizing how virtual reality will enable the QBs to experience extra reps.
— Zach Zaidman (@ZachZaidman) July 26, 2017
These aren’t Virginia’s Bears anymore are they? VR?? That’s pretty cool!
Pace: "Sanchez is the No. 2 when we enter camp, but we will create competition." #Bears
— Jake Perper (@BearsBacker) July 26, 2017
Not surprising, you have to make Mitch Trubisky earn it.
Pace: "With Kyle [Fuller], we've had a lot of conversations. He's frustrated too. I think he's at a healthy state now." #Bears
— Jake Perper (@BearsBacker) July 26, 2017
Here are a few updates on specific players:
Continued: "His pass rush repertoire, he's got a lot to work with as far as counters, and it'll be exciting to see."
— Robert Zeglinski (@RobertZeglinski) July 26, 2017
Leonard Floyd
Pace on Marcus Cooper: "We talk about instincts and ball skills in the secondary. Marcus definitely possesses those things. Upside with him"
— Jake Perper (@BearsBacker) July 26, 2017
Marcus Cooper
Pace on new Bears' TE Adam Shaheen biggest challenge: "His blocking, physicality."
— Robert Zeglinski (@RobertZeglinski) July 26, 2017
Adam Shaheen
