Have you ever wanted to hunt down Den Master Ken Mitchell in a match of fake football teams? How about share your own 10 thoughts with Lester Wiltfong Jr. on how your WR3 is better than his? Or how about using all the information from the so-called fantasy football expert against him in a draft? Well, here’s your chance. The official Windy City Gridiron fantasy football league cordially invites six readers to face off against six writers in an auction style draft for fantasy football glory.
Before you join, please read below to know what you’re getting into. If you can’t make the draft, please do not sign up. The online draft is the most fun and important part of the league so please, please, please, if you sign up - show up.
The draft is scheduled for Wednesday, September 6th at 7 P.M. Central time.
That’s the day before the league year starts so you’ll have all of the information preseason offers you. The league will be hosted on the Yahoo! Fantasy Football interface. The draft will be auction style, not a traditional snake draft. This allows everyone to have a chance at all players.
The league starts 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 DEF, and one Flex (WR/RB/TE) with 6 bench slots for a total of 15 player rosters. You’ll notice that there are no kickers. Kickers are stupid in fantasy football. #KillTheKicker
The league has yardage bonuses, increased penalties for turnovers, and most importantly, awards 0.5 points per reception. This is a PPR league!
